Same Color Bishop Endings
Same color bishop endgames are ones where each player has a Bishop, and the Bishops are on the same color squares. They are very simplified endgames with only Bishop pieces. Itís a far less common endgame than Rook endings.
The alternative to Same Color Bishop Endings is Opposite Color Bishop Endings, where one playerís bishop is on the light squares, and the other playerís bishop is on the dark squares. Surprisingly, opposite bishop endings tend to be quite drawish. But same color bishop endings are not drawish. In fact, they are often quite easily won by simple endgame positional play with the Bishop and King.
