Knight Backwards Moves
Can the Knight move backwards? Yes, the Knight can always move backwards or forwards, as many times in either direction. The only piece in chess that cannot move backwards is the pawns.
Knights have jump moves that can jump over pieces backwards. There are at most 8 possible directions for a Knight move (e.g. in the center of the board), of which 4 directions are backwards moves.
