King Value

The King’s value is theoretically infinite. When you assess the “material” on the board, the Kings are not usually counted.

Only in the endgame does the idea of “King value” apply. The King becomes a good attacking piece in the endgame, when it can invade into enemy pawn positions. The King is said to have an “attacking value” of about 3 pawns, or similar to a Knight piece.
