The Trompowski is an attacking response for White in the Queen’s pawn games against Black’s 1..Nf6. Rather than play “2.c4” and enter the usual group of Indian Defences, White avoids all that and attacks Black’s Knight immediately. This opening is quite common in modern club tournaments.
