Polish Defence

The Polish Defence is an uncommon black defence against “1.d4” where Black plays “1…b5”. It can transpose into Baker’s Defence (“St George Defence”) after “2.e4 a6”, or the Polish Defence can retain independent lines if Black avoids “2..a6”. In some lines Black may delay playing “a6”, or may advance with “b4” (similar to the reverse lines in the Orangutan Opening).
