Bg5 Attack

The chess opening system called “Bg5 attack” refers to a number of White openings that use Bg5 in the Queen Pawn openings, usually against Nf6 lines.

There are also some Bg5 systems in the King Pawn Openings, such as the Byrne Variation. However, the term “Bg5 attack” usually refers to Queen Pawn lines. See also: London Attack (Bf4 attack).
